Hair Prep
Whether you're exchanging vows or simply celebrating with the happy couple, you'll want your hair to look amazing!
Here are some tips to help you prepare your hair for the big day.
-
Please ensure your hair is completely dry upon arrival. Styling wet or damp hair is difficult and time-consuming, which may limit the time we have to create the perfect look for you. Additionally, it could cause delays, and we want everything to run smoothly and on time.
-
Having a clean scalp free of product and oil build up is important. A style will not hold on dirty hair. You know your hair best. For most, "clean" hair can be achieved by washing the night before or morning of the wedding.
-
When washing your hair, I recommend thoroughly shampooing your hair twice. You can apply conditioner to the ends of your hair, but try to avoid the roots, and make sure to rinse well. Stick to your regular shampoo and conditioner rather than trying something new. When blow-drying, aim for a smooth finish using a paddle or round brush along with your usual styling products.
-
If you have naturally curly hair and plan to wear your curls for the event, use your regular styling products, and we can touch up any unruly hairs to enhance your natural curl pattern.
-
If you have naturally curly hair but prefer a sleek, smooth, or straight style, it's essential to blow dry your hair as smoothly as possible before your appointment.
-
Choose where you'd like to part your hair for the wedding day and dry it in that part. Once your hair sets in a certain part, it's difficult to change.
-
Avoid putting your hair in a ponytail to prevent creases or flattening, ideally leaving it down.
